Exciting news!
November has been a busy month for us at Strategic 360. Not only are we saying goodbye to Josie for some months while she is going on maternity leave, we have welcomed Jacinta who will be stepping in to ensure a seamless transition and continued excellence in service.
Christmas is coming.
The countdown to Christmas is on and we’re in the midst of a headlong rush to maximise any remaining opportunities before the Christmas lull. Busy period or not, Christmas causes a period of dislocation and volatility for most businesses. The result is that it is not ‘business as usual’ and for many, volatility can create problems.
Our newsletter this month discusses the Christmas cost hangover, discounting trends, cash flow for the new year and other considerations to be had in the lead up to Christmas.
Hiring this Christmas?
As we all know many businesses have been operating on skeleton staff due to shortages within the employee pool. Some may opt to contract from overseas in order to provide staffing relief. It is important to understand when foreign staff may be classified as an Australian employee by the Fair Work Commission. Failure to understand the employment status of international contractors can be costly. Read here to see the FWC determination that a Philippines based contractor was an employee unfairly dismissed by her Australian employer.
November may be a busy month for us all. It is also a month for remembrance and philanthropy. While we are all faced with the rising costs of living, please try to shop local in the lead up to Christmas. Shopping local helps local business owners and benefits the community as a whole.
